Hot, Hot, Hot....

(End of June, 2010):  These past couple weeks have been so hot and muggy, feeling much more like August than June.  It's too hot outside (mid-90s) and - with the a/c on full blast - it's too cold inside!  There's not been much happy medium anywhere to be found.   But early mornings have been pleasant and I've gotten some "cool" shots on my morning walks!

The Larkspur or Wild Delphinium (Delphinium glaucum) are blooming in Kissena Park in vibrant shades of deep purple, lavender, deep pink, light pink and white!

A strutting male pheasant seen in the same place at the same time of day, two days in a row!

There must be a pheasant family nearby!
