Tree Removal

February 8-9, 2017:  The evergreen trees in the side yard were overgrown and looked like they were slowly dying.  Many of the bottom branches were dead and bare, and looked ugly.  I was also afraid these trees, with their infamously shallow root system, might blow over one day and hit the house, since our strong winds usually come from the west.  So when John Wilber stopped by and gave us a good estimate, we decided to go for it: he'll take three trees down and trim one up.  (iPhone photos)

Two down:

Going for the third (and tallest), using ropes
to guide the direction of the fall...

It hit the ground with a house-shaking thud
when it finally came down!
Before:  4th tree needs a trim!
After: Trimmed!
Stumper not working....
Returned the next day (February 9)
after a light snowfall, for stumping and cleanup!

Good job!
Now to get all the sawdust and wood chips cleaned up once the snow melts....!
